This isn't an easy time to be a teen. Our fast-paced world makes it hard to slow down and know who you really are. The pressure to fit in, to be successful or to just act like an adult can take its toll. Social media can amplify insecurities, providing unrealistic pictures of what your life "should" be. Anxiety and depressed feelings can be overwhelming. Too many teens have experienced trauma. It's easy to develop unhealthy coping. Others put on a mask and pretend everything is fine. Together we will work to make sense of your world. I will listen to you. We will identify your struggles, identify healthy coping and create strategies that will help you to thrive. You are not alone.

My practice is informed by treatments that have been proven to work. There is a strong evidence base for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and/or Exposure for all of the concerns listed on this page. DBT skills and Mindfulness are also helpful for many people. That said, teens have a good sense of what works best for them. We will work together to determine what will be the most helpful for you.
To begin, I offer a free phone consultation. Parents often call to see if I'm a good fit for their family, schedule their teen's first appointment and sort out logistics, although teens are welcome to do this too. Parent and/or family involvement varies with each case. We will discuss your unique needs and hopes at our first apt. Each session is 50-55 minutes, although the first one may run as long as 90 minutes.
