Hi! My name is Perrie and I started Steamboat Pets to provide exceptional care for the beloved pets in Steamboat Springs and surrounding area. Whether you're local or visiting, we treat every pet with the love and detail we treat our own.
With over 10 years of experience caring for animals professionally and volunteering with several rescue organizations, I've built a pet care business that cares deeply for your pets and their well-being. I also serve on the Board of Directors for the Routt County Humane Society.
We have 10 amazing pet sitters and dog walkers on the Steamboat Pets team - each person is carefully vetted before joining, and brings varied skills and experiences.
Your pet is unique with their own needs and personality, our services are structured so we can build the perfect care system that works with your schedule and their routine.
We look forward to meeting you and your pets!

We take the safety of your pet very seriously. Acheiving this certification means we're better able to identify signs of a life-threatening emergency and quickly create a plan for when a pet emergency occurs, and know some basic skills for limiting damage or starting treatments for some common emergencies.
Two first aid certifications? YES. We also completed the Pet First Aid course by the American Red Cross and use their app and offline resources in the field if the need should ever arise.
Your dog is in capable and prepared hands everytime they're with us.
We're invested in the well-being of your pet! Steamboat Pets is the only Fear Free Certified pet sitter in Steamboat Springs/Routt County. This science-based certification in animal body language, dog walking, pet behavior, training basics and enrichment, allow us to create stress-free experiences and offer top-level care.
We can help with reading dog and cat body language and provide ideas for how enrichment and training can be incorporated into the pet’s environment and routine, promoting not only a calmer pet-sitting stay but also a richer, more fulfilling life. This certification is renewed annually so we're always up to date with the latest guidance and training.
Whether it's in town or backcountry, we're constantly outside with our dogs, and we know the potential impact we can have on the beautiful nature that surrounds us.
We are commited to leaving no trace - picking up after our dogs, avoiding wildlife and respecting on/off-leash areas.
As a member, we advocate for dog friendly lifestyle opportunities in our community.
Much of this is focused on creating optimal off-leash areas; off-leash exercise can help promote proper muscular-skeletal growth and healthy brain development.
