Ember Team

The Ember programme is supported by the Dublin Diocese and currently operates in 20 schools around the diocese. Ember has been part of school life here in St Colmcille’s since September 2016. As a faith leadership programme, Ember seeks to recognise and celebrate the unique gifts and individuality of each person.

This year, our Ember team consists of 10 fantastic students who are willing to make a positive impact on their fellow friends and other year groups! They will plan some amazing events this year as well as themselves developing as individuals to allow them to be the best version of themselves.

Normally, we would be going to Avoca Manor to complete our 3 days of Ember training to become certified Ember leaders. We would stay here overnight and get to meet and interact with the other Ember teams around Ireland. Unfortunately, because of Covid, we aren’t permitted to do this. Instead, we looked at somewhere more local, the Larch Hill scout house. Here, the ember training took place as normal except we didn't meet the other teams or stay overnight! During these 3 days, we looked at event organisation as well as social skills to make ourselves more approachable. We are leaders, we need to make an impact and make those around us know that this is a safe space and we can help them in any way that we can!
