Here Is where you will find all classroom policies that I have In place. If I missed a topic or If you have questions about anything, please reach out to me.
Digital Books
Digital books can be a very useful tool when It comes to compact-ability and accessibility. I allow my students to use kindles (not tablets) as free reading books; as long as they ask me for permission first and are acting responsibly.
All classroom texts have to be a physical/paperback book unless discussed otherwise.
Kindles:
Kindles will always be allowed for free reading books as long as the student asks to use them first. They are a great book substitute. as long as students are staying on task and reading what they are supposed to be reading.
Ipads / Computers:
Devices that connect to the Internet can be a really great tool but they also can have their downsides. Using tablets and computers for class is a must for this class. If I begin to notice that students are on other applications when they are not supposed to be, or not following directions because of their devices, students will not be allowed to use them anymore in class and I will print paper copies of assignments for in-school assignments.
Audiobooks:
Audiobooks are allowed to be used for free reading time In class. The only rules I have as far as audiobooks Is that the student using one must have earbuds or headphones and they MUST follow along In a physical book with the audio version. If this becomes a problem I will not allow audio books anymore.
AI
Because of advancements In technology, It Is so Important to address the use of AI In coursework. The Use fo AI Is not allowed In class unless gaining special permission from me.
*If a child wants to earn special permission from me to use AI they can talk to me during the school day or email me any time*
*Special permissions to use AI can possibly be given to be used as a brainstorming tool, not to do work for the kiddo.*
