Reading:19th Century Fiction

This is Section A of English Language Paper 1. You will have to analyse a 19th Century text and answer comprehension questions about it, as well as analysing the text according to the questions asked. Remember to PEA! (Support points with quotes!)

What I need to know:

24 marks. 60 minutes. (This allows for reading time too)

Based on an ‘unseen’ text e.g. The Tell-Tale Heart by Poe.

Make sure you read the questions carefully as often they refer to specific lines to find the answers in or whether to focus on language, structure or both.
