Build Trust & Relationships

It is critical to connect with family members on a deeper level to understand more about where they come from, who they are, and their values and beliefs.

Work toward membership being 100% families so they are not competing for having a voice with staff or contractors, etc. 

Communicate and connect in multiple ways is a way to build trust:  

• Meet one-on-one with members to build relationships. Learn about who members are as individuals and their unique story. 

• Send a weekly text to check-in. 

• Communicate regularly via emails or newsletters. 

• Use opportunities to connect at meetings and share celebrations and challenges among members.
