What is CUWiP?

The goal of the APS Conferences for Undergraduate Women in Physics (CUWiP) is to help undergraduate women continue in physics by providing them with the opportunity to experience a professional conference, information about graduate school and professions in physics, and access to other women in physics of all ages with whom they can share experiences, advice, and ideas. The national and local organizing committees of APS CUWiP strive to create a welcoming environment for all, including undergraduate women and gender minorities.

This site is specific to the 2024 APS CUWiP at Stanford University and SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory. For more general information about APS CUWiP and to sign up for updates, visit the APS CUWiP main page!

Travel Advisory

CUWiP has become incredibly popular. In order to maximize the number of CUWiP participants the conferences can accomodate, participants will be allocated to sites based on travel logistics and site capacity. Please do not purchase travel tickets or plan to be at a specific site until you receive an email confirming you have been accepted to a specific CUWiP site.

COVID information

APS will no longer be verifying vaccination status or test results; rather, they expect that all CUWiP attendees will obtain a negative COVID-19 test before the meeting and monitor their personal health during the event. If an attendee does not feel well for any reason or tests positive for COVID-19, it is their responsibility to stay away from all in-person proceedings and inform the conference organizers.

Other CUWiP Locations

CUWiP sites are distributed across the United States so that attendees can participate within their region with minimized travel requirements. Other host sites for 2024 include:
