This trip can accommodate snorkeling and diving separately. Dives will be determined by conditions independent of daily snorkeling activities.
For snorkelers and divers:
Because we are spending long days in the water, we recommend you bring your own mask and snorkel for best fit and comfort. If you do not bring your own mask and snorkel, one will be provided. We recommend purchasing a mask in person from a reputable dive shop where you can select among several to best fit your face.
Many people choose to bring a long-sleeved rash guard and/or swim leggings to help protect them from the sun.
Fins will be provided.
If you plan to use a prescription snorkel mask, order this well in advance.
For divers on the main program in Palau:
Limited diving space is available on a first-come, first-served basis at an additional cost of $950 in Palau which covers a private boat and driver, instructor(s), tanks, and weights, for 2 dives/day for 6 days.
Divers must have PADI Advanced Open Water Certification plus at least one dive in the last 3 years. Please review your dive records and schedule any certifications or dives in time to meet these requirements before the trip begins.
The dive cost is based on a minimum of 6 divers in Palau. If our group does not meet a minimum of 6 divers, we will communicate next steps with the interested divers and determine whether we will need to re-cost.
Divers can rent a BCD, regulator, and full wetsuit for $35 per day in Palau, payable to the dive operator on site. If renting gear and going on the extension, you will need to turn in your gear in Palau and rent gear again in Yap. We expect most divers will bring their own dive computers, but they may also be rented onsite for $15/day.
For divers on the extension in Yap:
The dive cost in Yap is $165, which includes tanks, weights, and instruction for two full days and one half day. There is no minimum to the number of divers in Yap.
Divers must have PADI Advanced Open Water Certification plus at least one dive in the last 3 years. Please review your dive records and schedule any certifications or dives in time to meet these requirements before the trip begins.
