What happens while someone is broadcasting?

The first 30 minutes of the Poster Minute Madness will consist on a series of 2-minute presentations on each one of the 2021 LD4 posters. Presenters will use the broadcast function for this purpose. When someone is broadcasting, all participants in the room will have their video and microphone automatically disabled. If a conversation was already taking place, this conversation will be stopped.

How to see who is in the room?

Click on the Participants icon on the right hand menu and select whether you want to see all the participants in the room, or just the ones that are currently close to your avatar.

How to see who is talking with whom?

Guests can see who is speaking to whom. When a conversation has started, a circle will be created including the avatars for all people involved in the conversation.

The circle is visible to everybody, but not the conversation, which is happening in a specific video chat room including only people on the circle. Anyone can join a circle, with a limit of 15 participants per circle.

How to create a circle?

Move your avatar with your mouse toward the avatar of the person with whom you would like to start a video chat conversation.

Once you are close enough you will send them an invitation to start a circle that the person will have to accept. If the person is already part of a circle, then you will have to join that circle.

How to join a circle?

Move your avatar with your mouse towards the circle until you are on top of it. If the limit of people (15 persons per circle) has not been met, then you will automatically join the circle.

How to leave a circle?

Move your avatar with your mouse outside of the circle.

How to send a chat message to the whole room?

Click on the Chat icon on the right hand menu and select “Everyone”, then type your message and send.

How to send a private chat message?
