Hi Parents,
On this page I will be posting photos and information about what your children have been learning at school. The new posts will be at the top of the page and the older posts will be down below.
I hope you enjoy seeing all the wonderful work we are doing in the classroom.

Here the students are enjoying their first day of school together, participating in a "roll and build" activity. The task required them to roll a die, identify the number and represent the amount with blocks. The Grade One students took this activity a bit further by rolling 2 dice, adding the numbers together and representing that amount.
Pictured above are our new Prep students. They have made a fantastic start to the year. It has been lovely to see our Grade One students model wonderful leadership within the grades too.
Today the Grade Prep children learned how to partition numbers into two parts using a tens frame!
Students have been segmenting sounds in words to write!
At the beginning of this term, the Grade Prep One students walked to Kororoit Creek. The purpose of this excursion was spark interest in our Inquiry Unit this term about Water.
The students listened to a scientist, Charlotte, talk about the local creek, the animals that live in our water ways and her favourite animal was a platypus! The students were able to be involved in a hands on activity, using microscopes to look for and idenitfy bugs!
Our Grade One students have been demonstrating some great learning. Here Leon, Allan and Mavis have applied learnt spelling rules to write words independently.
Above, the Grade Prep students are showing their writing in our UFLI Sound Blast time. They are learning to independently listen to words, segment the sounds and write the letters to make the words and sentences!
Earlier this week we had Kirsten from Greater western Water visit us. She informed us about the Water Cycle. The students were part of a rich learning activity as they were able to be part of a play, acting out the Water Cycle.
Last week, Brainstorm Productions visited our school. They delivered a perfomance that was engaging for our whole school audience. The intention of this perfomance was to empower our students with practical strategies to enhance their mental heath, resilience and well being. While conveying important messages to our students, such as responsible cyber safety and belieiving in one self it was equally entertaining with music and laughter.
100 DAYS OF SCHOOL!
On Friday, we celebrated our 100 days of School! It was a fun and exciting day. We listened to stories about 100 days of school, wrote one hundered words by ourselves, ate yummy fruit skewers and played together. We talked about the many things we have learned since starting school, the friendships we have made and how much we have grown!
Today we had our Book Week Parade. Students came dressed as a book character and took part in a special Book Week Parade in the multi purpose room. We also listened to some stories from the Book Week List.
Our excursion to Sovereign Hill last term was a thoroughly enjoyable one. The children had the chance to experience a little of what things were like many years ago in Australia, and discover how things have since changed.
St Theresa's Feast Day
Last Friday we celebrated St Theresa's Feast day with Mother of God Primary School. It was a lovely opportunity for staff and students to reflect on the life of St Theresa of Lisieux aswell as come together as two schools to enjoy a lunch and fun activities.
