Music Listening Masters is a classical music listening club offered to 2ndthrough5th graders attending Hicks Elementary. Students study 12 pieces of classical music and have to be able to identify them on the optional LISD contest day after hearing only 20 seconds of that piece! Students have to know the name of the selection, major work (if the piece has one) and the name of the composer.
How do I study?
You will receive a list of all of the names of the pieces and their composers in a "passport" format, along with a notebook with additional listening maps and materials. Study these and be able to match the title of the piece to the name of the composer.
Listen/watch the practice music videos and study materials in our FMLM Canvas course and be able to identify what song it is by hearing a small section of ANY part of the song.
