1. These orders food will be delivered to the school. Parents do not need to pick it up.
2. Orders must be placed 24 hours (3:00pm on the day before the game) before delivery time (3:00 on game days). Meals can be purchased for the whole season at the beginning of the year.
3. If you ever need to cancel an order, you may cancel the 24 hours before delivery (3:00pm on the day before the game), and you will be refunded.
4. Parents may still deliver food from elsewhere if they so desire. Drop-offs must occur before 3:45 (can be dropped off earlier). Bags should be clearly labeled with student first and last name. The school DOES NOT ALLOW delivery services such as UberEats, etc.
5. Students may also bring their own gameday meal to school in the morning, and the coaching staff can store these personal meals in the athletics refrigerator.
NOTES ON FOOTBALL
All incoming 7th and 8th grade athletes are highly encouraged to participate in Summer Performance Course. If you are playing football, it is also highly recommended that you attend Marauder Pre-Season Football Camp. Camp info here.
FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT
-Students must have black (or mostly black) football cleats.
-Students must have plain, white socks, mid-calf or higher (for practice and games). Socks may have a small black or gray logo.
-Football pants (white) must be purchased. These pants will be used for practice and games.
-Helmets, mouth pieces, shoulder pads, and jerseys will be provided.
-Personal helmets may be worn if certified, approved, and match Downing helmets (white shell, gray permissible facemask).
-Optional: Gloves are neither required nor encouraged. If a student chooses to wear gloves, they must be black, white, or gray.
-Mouthpieces are provided. A student may use his own plain mouthpiece. Mouthpieces must be school colors and plain, i.e. free of words and designs (exception - Mouthpiece may have the logo and or name of the athletic gear company, e.g. Adidas, Nike.)
-Chin straps are provided. A student may use his own plain chin strap. Chin straps must be school colors and plain, i.e. free of words and designs (exception - Chin strap may have the logo and or name of the athletic gear company, e.g. Adidas, Nike.)
-Back flaps must be covered in games.
-Approved long sleeves may be worn in cold weather. Any sleeves should be worn in practice before worn in a game.
-Students are only allowed to wear approved or issued items.
ATHLETICS UNIFORM
All athletes must dress out in the required uniform. Items should be ordered from Groggy Dog Downing Athletics Store. Each athlete is required to purchase the gray t-shirt, the black shorts, and the Gameday Polo; all other items in the store are optional. Student last name must be printed clearly on the shirt and shorts with permanent black marker. Students who participate in football must purchase pants; these pants will be used for practice and games. 7th and 8th grade wear white football pants.
Students must also have:
Appropriate shoes for sports development (running / cross-training / tennis shoes aka flats) every day. No flip-flops, open-toed shoes, Crocs, boat shoes, loafers, etc. Students should keep cleats (if applicable) and flats in their locker all year if possible.
White socks, mid-calf or higher.
Prohibited Items:
All types of jewelry during practice and games
Facial hair
Anything not listed above or issued by the program
This dress is mandatory for students enrolled in the athletic class. The above uniform is to be worn only during athletic class, game days, and other dates deemed appropriate by the coaching staff.
