PAPERWORK DEADLINE - All male athletes (Class of 30 & 31) must have all paperwork submitted, including an up-to-date physical and ALL RankOne forms. I will start approving physicals by July 21st.

8th Grade: 6:45-7:45 AM

7th Grade: 7:50-8:50 AM

Downing Middle School Orientation / Locker Set-Up (7th and 8th athletes can get their locker if they haven’t yet and set up lockers before orientation time.)

8th 9:30-10:30 (Locker Room Access: 9:00-9:25)

7th 10:30-11:30 (Locker Room Access: 10:00-10:25)

6th 1:00-2:00

August 12, 2025

1st Day of School; morning football practice for both grades (same all week); Cross Country fitness test (non-football). 

First Week of Football Practice Times 2025 (Tues, Aug 12 - Fri, Aug 15) 

7th Grade

Locker Room Opens: 6:30 AM (South side locker room door)

Report Time: 6:40 AM (Students should be in the locker room by this time.)

On-the Field: 6:50 AM 

End of Practice: 8:00 AM (students can shower at school or go home and come back)

 8th Grade 

LRO: 7:40 AM

RT: 7:45 AM

OTF: 7:55 AM

EOP: 8:20 AM

Full Football Calendar with Practice Times will be posted before the end of July. We will switch 7th grade to afternoon practices as soon as temperatures are tolerable (for reference, last year we began PM practices the third week of school).  

Spring 2026 Class of 30 meetings at Marcus will begin (TBD).

April 2026 (TBD) Mandatory Parent Meeting for Boys Athletics

Class of '33: 6:00-6:30 PM (Pre-Athletics/PE)

Class of '32: 6:30-7:30 PM (Athletics only)

Class of '31: 7:30-8:00 PM (Athletics only)

At least one parent should attend. Athlete attendance is encouraged but not mandatory. 

Attendance for Class of '33 is recommended but not mandatory. Parents and athletes are welcome to attend. The Downing Boys Coaching Staff will be there to present information and answer questions to ensure everyone feels prepared for 2026-2027 school year.
