I am writing from MiD Mediation and Counselling as I wanted to let you know we will have some children/young people’s counselling slots available coming up very soon and I wondered if you might have some children who need support. In case you haven’t heard of us before, we are a charity based in Hampton Hill that specialises in helping families going through divorce and separation. We offer family mediation and counselling and have been running for over 30 years in West London and we want to ensure that all families in the area know what we do.
We have 3 fully qualified counsellors for children (ages 4-18) who are finding their parents separation/divorce difficult to cope with and are finding life hard at either home or school. Their issues may not even be about their parents separation and our counsellors help a wide variety of children and young people who may be suffering with extreme anxiety, depression, have had suicidal thoughts, self harming or are struggling to engage with school or struggling with friendships. This work is supported by The Hampton Fund, Richmond Parish Lands and Children in Need and we are charging £10 a session for those families that can afford it but if they can’t then we offer 10 counselling sessions for free. It might be that the child’s parents are currently going through a family breakdown or that it happened years ago, we will still be able to support these children.
The parents can contact us on the telephone on 020 8891 6860 or by email at admin@midmediation.org.uk or the school can make a referral although we will need to speak with the parents as well.
