This week we played in a friendly rugby tournament against other local schools. Although it was just a friendly, everyone had fun and enjoyed a day of girls-only tag rugby. Everyone still did their best and one thing that kept us going was lots of positive vibes in our team. Being positive really helped us score tries and whizz around. In one of our games we won 4-0! It was great to play at the famous Harlequins Stadium, standing on the pitch where so many famous men and women rugby players have stood. After all our matches, we loved taking a picture under the posts. Thank you to our amazing team: Lizzie, Florence, Isla H, Sybil, Isla M, Emi, Hettie and Margaret. A huge thank you to Mr Cain and Mrs Hunt for making this possible.
Just before half-term we entered our first every girls' cricket competition at Barn Elmes Sport Centre. We were only into week five of our cricket club, with some of our girls playing cricket for the very first time. Despite a nervy start the girls triumphed in their first match against Trafalgar, giving a masterclass in fielding, winning by three runs. This was a huge confidence boost and helped us to then dispatch other teams in our group, including St James and St Osmonds. Then, as unbeaten winners of our group, we entered the semi-finals stage against Radnor, knowing a loss would see us exit the competition. However, this match saw us display our best performance and notch up a 28-run win. We entered the final against another private school, the Old Vicarage, and just fell at the final hurdle, notching up our only loss of the day. Mr Dale and I would like to thank the girls for an outstanding innings. Well done to Isla M, Isla H, Mila, Hettie,Seren, Emi, Persey, Sybil and Annika. The girls made us very proud.
Here we give you Mandela class having fun in one of Madame G's action-packed French lessons. This song-based session helped the children learn their numbers and letters. Mrs Grosvenor told us there was a lot of laughing and learning, while they sang.
