As the end of the academic year approaches, so does the end of our trusteeship for FOSS. Fay, Emma, Marietjie and Miranda are handing over the FOSS reigns to a brand new team who kindly volunteered their services to our school community following our outreach last term. We are very grateful! You will have an opportunity to vote them in and learn more about their plans at the AGM in September <watch this space for more details>. In the meantime, here is a message from Francesca and Kate who very much are relying on your continued support which ultimately helps FOSS to continue enriching our children's education by providing additional resources. Thank you all in advance!!!
As we say farewell to the outgoing FOSS committee, we are still looking to fill the following positions next year:
- Treasurer
- Content Writer (to work in conjunction with a Graphic Designer)
For more information about the roles, and if you would like to help on individual projects, please contact Francesca +44 7827 774902 or Kate +44 7710 791771
Please note, FOSS is a charity and this is voluntary work, where experience is welcomed but not necessary.
ANNUAL ST STEPHEN'S VS ORLEANS FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT 2024
On Saturday 23nd June, St Stephens were once again proud winners of the cup! Well done St Stephen's footballers!!!
St Stephen’s carried out the school’s annual stewarding recruitment & coordination duty for the St Margaret’s Fair on Saturday 6th – the rain didn’t keep our community away!
The Fair was another great success and FOSS would like to do a MASSIVE shout out to Jo Hall who has beautifully coordinated the stewarding for four years now! With Jo leaving the school, we sadly lose our fabulous St Mags Fair AND Lottery Coordinator (we’ll miss you!!!).
Thankfully, the lovely Nora McGlone is stepping up to fill the Lottery Coordinator role. Nora is teaming up with Hannah Paterson to take on this St Mags Fair duty which is usually worth between £2.5k - £3.3k to our school (four other local school also receive this amount for their duties)!
Thank you all SO much for your continued support to our community and fundraising efforts to boot. Thank you also to the FIFTY parents/carers who very kindly pitched in with their volunteering hands and Hi-Vis last Saturday and/or distributed the Fair magazines to your neighbours. AS ALWAYS, WE ARE SO GRATEFUL FOR YOUR SUPPORT TO FOSS!!
The FOSS Friday cake sale takes place every week in the playground after school. Last year it raised a staggering £5,700 for the school. Many thanks to everyone who donated and bought cakes.
As a reminder - in order to keep our whole school community safe we always ask that homemade or shop bought cakes do not contain nuts, coconut or sesame. Many shop bought cakes will say 'may contain nuts' and, given people bake in their homes, we can never guarantee the sale is completely 'nut free,' as traces may exist. Any cake bought at the sale is under parental supervision, not school supervision. Parents who give their children money to visit the sale are accepting parental responsibility (especially for Yr5 and Yr6 children whose parents may not be present at pick up). Children going to Stars on a Friday afternoon do not visit the cake sale, instead a cake is provided directly by Stars to children who would like to visit. Thank you in advance to everyone over this school year that will bake, buy and help make our cake sales succesful and safe.
Many thanks
The Cake Sale Team
