Last week we entered the annual borough sports with four girls and four boys competing in a wide variety of activities. All the athletes did a fantastic job, achieving top five finishes in all events. This led to an overall third place finish which was extraordinary, considering there were forty schools competing. Well done Sybil, Isla, Mollie, Hettie representing the girls squad and Albert, Shan-Wei, Thomas and Seb representing the boy.
We are delighted to welcome Conaill Ryan to our staff. Conaill joins our sports coaching team and will be working with our head coach, Danny Cain. He is also part of the Brentford Football Club coaching team, working with children. A keen football player, Conaill usually plays in goal and, not surprisingly, is a committed Brentford supporter. He's also very busy looking after his pets - he has two dogs and two cats. Welcome Conaill.
Our cricket teams did not have to travel far for a spot of cricket. Moormead played host to a friendly competition against St Mary's and Orleans Primary School. Mr Cain was very proud of the batters and bowlers, with a win for the girls and a second place for the boys. This was the first outing for our boys. "These results are nothing short of outstanding and we can build on these amazing performances in our preparation for the borough championships on July," said Mr Cain.
Many congratualtions to Year Five's James, who has participated in an impressive twenty three 'Show in a Week' performances with Elizabeth Samuels Drama School, earning him a series of accolades, including bronze, silver and gold certificates. Club Principal, Sam Davies said: "Congratulations, James! You should be immensely proud of your exceptional achievements and dedication."
