The sun shone for our Year Six last week, as they opened their French food cafe for just one day. Parents and family flocked to buy their croissants and other French delicacies and listen to their perfect French accents, all choreographed by our marvellous French teacher, Madame G. Here is Mrs Brown's report
Our Year Six students transported us to the heart of France with their delightful French Café event held in the playground! The area was transformed into a charming Parisian café, complete with checkered tablecloths and a delectable menu of French treats. Our young chefs and wait staff served croissants, baguettes, cheeses, and pastries, impressing everyone with their culinary skills and impeccable manners.
The event was not only a celebration of French cuisine but also a practical application of the students' language skills. They took orders and conversed in French, showcasing their impressive proficiency and confidence. The café provided a wonderful opportunity for the students to immerse themselves in French culture, while also engaging with their peers, teachers, and parents in a fun and educational setting.
Thank you to all the students, staff, and parents who made this event a resounding success! A particular thank you to our marvellous French teacher, Fabienne Goalen, for all her hard work.
IT'S ALL GREEK TO YEAR THREE
MISS DOWNES REPORT
Year Three rode the train and underground all the way to The British Museum. Students were immersed in all things Ancient Greece. We explored ancient Athens and even saw artefacts from the Peloponnesian war. We are so grateful that we had some amazing parent helpers that truly made the trip a 10/10 experience. Check out the pictures and feedback below:
'My favourite bit of the trip was sketching the artefacts. I learned so much' - Xavier
'My favourite part of the trip was being on the tablets and finding the artefacts scattered around the room. One interesting artefact was the sculptured gravestone of Xanthippos' - Jake
