First Communion Retreat

Parent Note: Retreats are opportunities for us to get away from the rush of our every-day lives. Use this at-home retreat with your child to help him or her learn more about the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Follow the steps below to complete the retreat.

Let's begin ... Here are some tips and tricks for completing a retreat at home!

  1. Set aside some time one day or at a specific time throughout the week. Designate that time for the retreat work. Also make sure that you have a quiet space to do the retreat work - a space free from any distractions!

  2. Supplies that you will need include access to printer, craft supplies: crayons, glue, scissors, etc. and for one activity, access to basic cooking supplies: flour, salt, water, oil.

  3. This retreat has been designed to be completed as a family. Parents are the primary educators of their child(ren)'s faith, and so it is important that you share your faith with them - and why it's important to you. Contact me with any questions at kate.mcgrath@st-raphael-parish.org! I'm happy to help and be of any support!

  4. Enjoy the time that you spend with your child! A retreat is traditionally a time to get away from the ordinary way of life. It's an opportunity to grow in faith, in our relationship with God, and in relationship with one another.
