Year 3
Library Visit - Year 3 enjoyed a trip to Canning Town library. They were set a mini research task to help them explore the books. They also discovered the different areas of the library for different genres and types of books for children.
No Pen Day - For No Pen Day, Year 3 channeled their expressive side in English and learnt how to read with more emotion. They used these skills to read and then record part of the fairy tale they had written.
Science - This half term in science lessons, Year 3 have been looking at forces. In our investigation we predicted how different surfaces on a ramp would affect the distance a toy car would travel. We worked as a team to conduct our investigation and ensured all children took an active part!
Year 4
Anti-Bullying Week - Year 4 explored how to use power for good through drama, acting out positive ways to respond to bullying and showing the importance of not being a bystander.
Cookery - In DT, the children explored European cuisine through a hands-on cookery session. They worked together to prepare a delicious meal of chicken souvlaki, potatoes, fresh salad, and flatbread, developing their practical cooking skills, teamwork, and understanding of different food cultures.
No Pen Day - The children took part in No Pen Day to help raise awareness of speech and language. They enjoyed a range of engaging, talk-based activities, including completing their maths learning through a scavenger hunt and maths bingo, all without any writing.
