LKS2

Year 3

Tying in with their Geography topic on India, the challenge was for the children to design a bridge to cross the river to enable children to get to school more easily and safely.

We had learnt how a variety of ingredients are used in Indian cuisine; some herbs and spices are grown and harvested, reared, caught and processed. We had the opportunity to smell and touch ginger, black pepper, star anise, cinnamon and bay leaves.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the French themed day. At the French market they were able to use their French to order and enjoy the food and drinks. In Geography and Art they learnt more about the French speaking country of Quebec, and made paper animals inspired by the Québécois artist Claude Lafortune.

The year 3 enjoyed a visit to the local library at Canning Town where they enjoyed listening to and doing actions to the We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. They also learnt about the different types of books that are available and where to find them in the library.

Tunes filled the playground and the children rocked it out in style in their rock attire. They also enjoyed Maths challenges and battles on TT Rockstars throughout the day.

Year 4

In Science we have been learning about change of states and we have been experimenting how ice melts in different temperatures and how different types of chocolate (dark, milk and white) have different melting points.
