KS1

Year 1

1Y worked so hard in preparing for their assembly. It was such a huge success and Mrs Cook was super proud of all the children’s contribution. We shared some special videos to demonstrate what we thought something beautiful was. After reading the book ‘Something Beautiful’ in our English lessons we could reflect upon our own something beautiful and we were excited to share this in assembly.

1Y also learnt how God made the world and God made us all but we are all sent as Something Beautiful.

We challenge you all to be someone’s something beautiful today.

Year 1 have grown in confidence this half term in gymnastics. They have explored balance and jumps as well as building upper body strength as they use the equipment.

Each morning, children in 1Y start their day by focussing on their sensory needs. They have attention bucket group. They need to wait and look but not touch.

They have also explored music sensory engaging in calming techniques, this once again has allowed for attention and focus helping them calm for the rest of the day.

The children have also explored food textures allowing them to explore through touch and taste.

We are really enjoying using our Outdoor Learning Area!

Year 2

Year 2 made their own Vehicles using various recycled materials. We had to make sure our vehicles were fitted with an axle and wheels to make it move. We used different tools to create and design.

In our dance lessons this term, Year 2 have been practising their dance routine to the song Green Green Grass. Every week they practise and work hard for Mr Downer. Dancing superstars.

In science this term we have been looking at different habitats. Habitats are different homes for animals. We searched our school to look at what minibeasts live in different microhabitats. We found woodlouse, snails, spiders and ants. We collected this data using a tally chart and then presented the data using a bar graph.
