Year 3
The children enjoyed researching the style, shape, material and fastenings of different pencil cases. They designed their own and made one using a running stitch on felt.
As part of their learning on plants, the children have been helping to set up experiments using cress and celery to look at the effect of sunlight on growth and also how water is transported in the plant.
Year 4
In French the children have begun to learn about France and their French pen pals with Miss Odefuye. The children ended their French lesson by drawing the Eiffel Tower.
Children took part in the Poppies and Poetry workshops. They explored and pondered about the two minute silence and what that means to them. The children then wrote their own poems about remembrance day and illustrate their ideas too.
This term in Year 4, our Black History unit in English was based on the Windrush. The children have been working on ensuring their writing is in standard English, writing diary entries based on the Windrush generations journey to England and writing reports about what life was like for people. The children used all this information to write their own information poster on the Windrush.
