Preschool
The pre-schoolers have been learning about the season of Autumn through exploratory play. They went for walks, collected crunchy Autumn leaves, painted ‘mud’ onto the pumpkins and gourds. They cleaned them, used hammers and pins to develop their fine motor skills and finally scooped out the insides, investigating the seeds, the textures and the smells.

Reception
This week, our Reception class has been busy exploring, creating, and discovering! We tapped into our imagination by getting creative with junk modelling and painting. Outdoors, we became little scientists, conducting exciting science experiments with baking soda and vinegar, and went on an autumn walk to look for signs of the season and collect natural resources. We also explored the physical world by investigating how ice melts and what it looks and feels like.
Inside, Literacy was a treat! We used pumpkin soup to search for phonics sounds and make words, read the book You Choose, and wrote about what job we would like to have when we are older and who we would like to add to our family. We’ve been working hard on learning to write our names and strengthening our hand muscles with various fine motor activities.
In Maths, our focus has been on the number 3. Our RE learning centered around the Creation Story, and we had a very special visit to see Jesus, where we said a private prayer.
