Transportation is one of the most exciting things when you move to Ho Chi Minh City. Most people decide to rent or buy a motorbike.
Scooters: In Vietnam, people can rent/hire or buy a 50cc bike without needing to have a license. However, in case of accident you will need a license to have insurance coverage.
If you plan on getting a motorcycle, get your license in your home country first! It can be so much easier if you have it already and then transfer it to Vietnam.
Bicycles: Our neighborhood is also bicycle friendly. Many teachers and staff ride their bicycles to work as the roads are paved and flat. Here you will find a list of places where you can rent or buy your preferred mean of transportation.
Taxis: If two wheels isn't your thing, there are several taxi services (check out the Life Apps section) that can get you from A to B, with air conditioning too! A taxi to D2 from D7 will cost approx. 175,000 VND/$7.50 USD, depending on the time of day and your destination, of course.
In addition, there are some useful apps you can install and they can help you get motorbike drivers, car drivers or taxi drivers. Some of these apps can also help you to get food or packages delivered:
