Phones: HR arranges a Mobifone SIM card for you upon arrival in HCMC. Phone plans that include data, phone, and SMS are inexpensive here (you can pay as little as $4 USD per month). Your phone number will be required on many forms, so it's a good idea to memorize it asap. Most apps will also send you a confirmation code via SMS to complete the set-up process. To verify online purchases, you will often be sent an "OTP" code via SMS as well. Because concrete is the building material of choice here (particularly in the villas), you may find that your home contains a dead zone for receiving calls and texts. It's frustrating, but you can usually pick up a signal near a door or window. 

Internet: Expect to pay anywhere from 400,000 VND to 2,000,000 VND for your monthly internet service (depending on your needs).
