The quality of the healthcare in Vietnam can surprise new expats, although it's also true that many expats opt for private healthcare treatment when possible. The standard of private hospitals and clinics in Vietnam is excellent — they are often staffed by doctors/medical professionals who completed their studies overseas and therefore tend to speak English and/or French. There is a good clinic just around the corner from school and an international hospital with excellent facilities just minutes from campus. The international health insurance policy provided by SSIS covers a lot of care and treatments (but you should always check first). The current insurance policy requires a manageable co-pay. There are also many excellent dentists and orthodontists in HCMC. This section offers recommendations for a variety of medical services. (As with the rest of the resources on this site, these facilities/services are suggested by our faculty and not officially endorsed by the school.)
