Ms. Button

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year!

Hello!! My name is Anna Button and this will be my sixth year teaching third grade. Prior to joining the third grade team, I spent four years teaching fourth grade – one of those years in Rochester and the other three in Stewartville.

I was born and raised in Rochester, Minnesota. I love living in the Midwest! I graduated from Mayo Senior High School in 2009. After that I attended Winona State University. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an Emphasis on Early Childhood in 2013. I then earned my Master of Science in Elementary Education from Winona State in July 2015. In December of 2018 I earned my K-12 Reading License through St. Mary’s University. Literacy is a huge passion of mine!

When I am not teaching I enjoy reading, camping, traveling, going to concerts, watching hockey and spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy spending time with my three (yes, three) rescue cats! Milo, Louie and Beau keep me on my toes and I would not change it for the world!

My teaching philosophy is to provide a safe, nurturing, engaging environment for all students. I want the children that enter my classroom to develop a deep love for literacy and understand that learning is lifelong. When children are held to high academic and behavioral expectations, they can and will succeed. I want every child I have the privilege to teach to know they are loved, cared for, and valued.
