Welcome to 3rd Grade at Bear Cave Intermediate School!
Hello! My name is Adam Eickhoff and this will be my 18th year teaching third grade in Stewartville. I spent the first 7 years teaching at Bonner Elementary, 3 years at Central Intermediate, and I am now starting my 8th year at Bear Cave Intermediate. I enjoy teaching third grade because it is a nice transition year for the students. Third grade is a great time for students to begin developing some independence, self-advocacy, and collaboration skills.
I grew up watching both of my parents teach school in Chatfield, MN. After graduating from High School in 2002, I attended Gustavus Adolphus College and obtained my B.A. degree in Elementary Education with a Math concentration. My first teaching job was at Bonner Elementary during the 2006-2007 school year. I've enjoyed working in Stewartville over the years and getting to know many students and their families. Along with teaching third grade, I also coached 7th grade baseball for 5 seasons. My last season coaching was the 2012 season. I also am in charge of the 8th grade Washington DC trip each summer. The DC trip is one of the highlights of my year as it is a great time to connect with former students and their families, not to mention that it is highly educational and a fun experience.
Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my family. My wife's name is Andrea. We met in high school and have been together ever since. I also have 2 daughters. My oldest daughter is Ali and is excited to be starting fifth grade this year. Ali loves playing softball, basketball, and volleyball. Arie, my youngest, is 7 years old and will be starting second grade this year. She adores all animals, especially our dogs.
