Hands On Activities

1. Sorting Activity- Write the teen numbers on index cards or scraps of paper - Mix the cards up and have your child put them in order from least to greatest. 2. Counting Activity - Using a piece of paper or ice-cream tub lid:- Write a number between 1-20- Student uses clothes pegs and clips the amount of pegs to match the number shown.
3. Game - Drawing a hopscotch game on the ground. Write any numbers and play. Try focus on numbers that need extra practice recognising.

This term Kindergarten we are learning that things around us are made of different materials and why things are made out of different materials.
At the end Mrs Bentley still hasn’t put her little spoon in a group.

Why do you think she is finding it hard to work out where to put the spoon?
Which group would you put it in? and why?

Sport - Running!

1) Practice a STANDING START for a race:

"On your marks" - Start with your food behind the line
"Set" - Bend forward at the hips and knees
"GO!" - Push off and RUN!

2) Practise running in a straight line:

Make a start line (in your back yard)
Find a SPOT to run to
Look at that spot as you run towards it

Can you run FASTER?Can you run TALLER?

3) Now lay some sticks across your running track.

JUMP over the sticks (hurdles) as you run
Can you do this 10 times?

Arts and crafts

Family Hands Craft

Trace the hand of each family member on paper. Decorate each using patterns, colours or pictures. Cut out and glue them on top of each other with the biggest hand on the bottom and smallest on the top.
