TUPE (Tobacco-Use Prevention Education) &
Cannabis Awareness/Prevention

The TUPE program aims to provide services such as:

Marin TUPE uses prevention education and intervention developed from Stanford University's REACH Lab. The Halpern-Felsher REACH lab studies developmental, cognitive, psychosocial, and cultural/social factors involved in adolescents' and young adults' health-related decision-making, perceptions of risk and vulnerability, health communication, and risk behavior.

All curriculum options that TUPE utilizes are evidence-informed and evidence-based in addition to being available for free online.

Peer Educators

Teams of students from middle schools, high schools, and non-traditional (continuation) schools are trained as TUPE Peer Educators. Students deliver anti-tobacco messages at their school through classroom presentations and school-wide events. These comprehensive presentations include information on tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, and other drugs. As peer educators, students build a wide variety of important and relevant skills, including effective communication, collaborative planning, public speaking, and decision making.
