The program allows students to help out their community and at the same time lets them obtain knowledge in all areas of public safety.

The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Explorer Post is for those ages 14-20 interested in exploring a career in law enforcement. Explorers get a combination of classroom trainings and hands on experience that teaches them about the rigorous and challenging field of law enforcement.

The California Highway Patrol's Explorer Program is designed for young men and women, 15-21 years of age, allowing them to develop the skills and knowledge needed to serve the people of California through discipline and a commitment to serving their community.

The Emergency Medical Technician Program offered by Santa Rosa Junior College is a semester long program designed to train individuals in the concepts of basic life support emergency care. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will be eligible to take the National Registry EMT-B written exam, for certification.

Offered by the Santa Rosa Junior College, the Firefighter Academy is a 17.5-unit course that includes an intensive series of skills and knowledge needed for the entry level professional firefighter to perform his/her duties safely, effectively and competently.
