When you are on campus, you will see two wireless networks: RangerNet and SantaRosaGuest. The details of each network are provided below. If you have any questions or need help connecting, please reach out to us at support@sra.mn and we'll be happy to help.
The RangerNet network is designed to be used for the following:
School Owned Devices - RangerNet will be used for all school managed staff and student devices moving forward.
Student Devices - All of our student Chromebook and Macs will connect to RangerNet with student level Internet and network permissions. This will be done automatically.
Staff Devices - All of our school owned and managed staff devices will connect to RangerNet with staff level Internet and network permissions.
Staff Owned Personal Devices - If you use a personally owned device such as your own iPad, Mac, Windows laptop, etc., you can now use your Google username and password to connect to RangerNet. This will grant you full staff level permission to the network from your personal device that includes access to printers, Apple TV’s, and Internet filtering more suitable for staff members. PLEASE NOTE this feature that is being made available to the Staff is intended for your own personal use. Do not use your username and password to connect anything but your own device.
The SantaRosaGuest network is designed to be used for the following:
Guests of Santa Rosa.
Students that wish to connect from a personal device.
Santa Rosa is committed to equal access of technology and provides all students with school managed computers for instruction. However, many students in middle and high school own computers that were paid off under the SRA lease program and would like the option to continue to use them on campus. These devices, and others that were purchased outside of the lease program, will be provided with the option of limited and safe Internet access via the SantaRosaGuest network that will have strict Internet filtering in place and it will also only provide a connection out to the Internet (printers and Apple TV’s will not be accessible).
