I will have an in class schedule with daily schedules posted.
I will take a photo of this schedule and post it to Google Classroom for those who miss class/need to know what was done.
I expect all students to be in my Google Classroom: when I am absent from class, I will use that platform to communicate plans.
Most, if not all class work, will be completed in class. I do not usually assign homework aside from permission slip style assignments.
I hope to foster a relationship and understanding with all students so that if a student needs additional support they feel comfortable coming to me for requests and suggestions of aid.
Unit 1: Introduction- What tools will we be using in the course? How are they used? Who is in our class and what is everyone like? Is everyone in the Google Classroom? Let's get started by making sure we're all on the same page!
Unit 2: Creativity- What strategies are used in creativity and how can we develop them? Creativity is going to be super important in this class- so let's work on working on developing those skills! Play and create and reflect on the process!
Unit 3: Communication- What message(s) are being communicated through design? Why does having a message or purpose matter? We'll explore design together and see how the message(s) are conveyed and received!
Unit 4: Principles & Elements of Design- What are the principles and elements of design and why do they matter? How can we best use them to create digital graphics and design? Let's make some design projects highlighting our learning!
Unit 5: Typography- What is typography and why does it matter? How does font selection, weight, color, and style effect the overall message being communicated?
Unit 6: Digital Photography- What techniques exist in digital photography to get that "perfect" picture? What does a "perfect" picture look like? Let's explore, develop new skills, practice, and create some great digital photography together!
Unit 7: Career Research- What careers exist in the field and what are they like working in? Let's look into the professional side of this field and share our findings!
