I will have an in class schedule with daily schedules posted.
I will take a photo of this schedule and post it to Google Classroom for those who miss class/need to know what was done.
I expect all students to be in my Google Classroom: when I am absent from class, I will use that platform to communicate plans.
Most, if not all class work, will be completed in class. I do not usually assign homework aside from permission slip style assignments.
I hope to foster a relationship and understanding with all students so that if a student needs additional support they feel comfortable coming to me for requests and suggestions of aid.
Unit 1: Introduction- What tools will we be using in the course? How are they used? Who is in our class and what is everyone like? Is everyone in the Google Classroom? Let's get started by making sure we're all on the same page!
Unit 2: Animation- What types of animation exist? What tools are available to create animation? Let's get some experience using different tools and types of animation to see where our strengths and weaknesses are.
Unit 3: Collaboration- What strategies are used in collaboration and how can we develop them? Why is collaboration so important? Let's work on learning to be better group members with various group projects and lessons! Playing together and building together is one of the most important skills you can learn!
Unit 4: Game Design- What makes a good game? What types of games exist? How does one go about creating a game?
Unit 5: Problem Solving- What strategies are used in problem solving and how can we develop them? Why is problem solving so important? Problem solving is going to be super important when programming: so let's refine those skills!
Unit 6: Game Programming- How are games programmed? What tools are available to program games today? Let's get some experience using the different tools and find the ones that work best for us to create some video games!
Unit 7: Career Research- What careers exist in the field and what are they like working in? Let's look into the professional side of this field and share our findings!
