About this class

This is an accelerated math class that covers both the high level learning targets in both 7th and 8th Grade, which will allow students to potentially take Math I in 8th Grade.

The math curriculum we’ll be using is Open Up Resources 6–8 Math.  With Open Up Math, students learn that math isn’t just about memorizing rules, it’s about rolling up your sleeves and diving in. The curriculum is built around hands-on activities that help students understand mathematical concepts. Another feature of this curriculum is the peer collaboration. Students regularly collaborate on activities and problem-solve in pairs or teams.
