Orchestras

Thurston offers two String Orchestras, our auditioned Advanced Orchestra that is geared towards more experienced musicians, and our String Ensemble that is geared towards developing musicians. Students in the orchestras will learn and improve their musicianship, facility on their instrument, knowledge of music theory and history, ear training, and practice techniques, among other things. Students should expect to perform in chamber ensembles as well as being members of the orchestra.

Students have the option of playing Violin, Viola, Cello, or Double Bass
