ACT

Who?

College-bound juniors and seniors.

What?

The ACT Test is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science. The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test.

The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete, including a short break (or just over four hours if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing).

When?

The ACT is given six times during the year: September, October, December, February, April, and June.

Where?

The ACT is given at schools nationwide. Students may register to take the test at any testing site. SHS will operate as a testing site for Spokane seniors on October 20, 2021. Registration for this testing date will be coordinated thru the SHS Counseling Department.

Why?

Many four-year colleges and universities, including most in Missouri, require an ACT score for admission. Some colleges and universities may prefer a SAT score instead, however. Please check specific college websites for admission requirements.
