Care 20 (Early Learning Focus) provides students with opportunities to explore skills and knowledge related to working in early learning environments including topics on developmental milestones, child guidance strategies and the promotion of safety while working with children.
Care 30 (Early Learning Focus) provides students with advanced topics relevant to professionals working in early learning environments such as early childhood mental health, the holistic dimensions of development and creating invitations for learning.
Care 20 (Health Care Focus) introduces students to topics in health care and basic skills required by unregulated care professionals such as bed making, home management tasks and caring for a client’s personal hygiene.
Care 30 (Health Care Focus) provides students with further opportunities to acquire required skills and knowledge for unregulated care professionals and addresses their roles and responsibilities in acute care settings, caring for clients with dementia and ways to foster safe and hygienic workspaces.
Care 20 (Combined Focus) allows students to experience a blend of introductory and intermediate modules in early learning and health care on topics such as respecting the privacy and confidentiality of care recipients, holistic developmental milestones and safety procedures in early learning and health care environments.
Care 30 (Combined Focus) allows students to pursue their exploration of a blend of intermediate and advanced modules in early learning and health care such as investigating principles related to ethical practice in caregiving environments, examining life cycles and investigating opportunities for small business in the early learning and health care sectors.
Commercial Cooking 10, 20, 30 provides students with opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills and understandings to prepare food safely, accurately and efficiently in commercial kitchen environments while also meeting current industry standards.

Emergency Services 20 introduces students to policing, emergency medical services, search and rescue and firefighting. Workplace safety, psychological health and well-being, careers, the Incident Command System and basic and foundational skills such as communication and first aid used by all emergency services personnel are emphasized.
Emergency Services 30 provides the opportunity for specialization in one or more areas of emergency services.

Hairstyling and Esthetics 10 is an introduction to an industry which includes technicians that specialize in hair, nails, skin and makeup. The sanitation, disinfection and sterilization of equipment, along with the safety of clients and technicians is a key element for students to learn and applies to all areas.
Hairstyling 20 builds on the introductory content to further develop the skills and techniques needed to perform hairstyling services.
Hairstyling 30 continues to enhance the technical skills needed by hairstylists as well as build deeper knowledge and creativity.
Esthetics 20 develops student knowledge of skin, nails and makeup. Each specialty requires an understanding of products and their applications that is essential for a successful technician.
Esthetics 30 further develops technical skills while also focusing on the creativity of design.
Hairstyling and Esthetics 20 and Hairstyling and Esthetics 30 are courses that allow students to experience a combination of all specialties.
The purpose of Tourism 10, 20, 30 is to give students the opportunity to explore tourism as a viable and sustainable sector locally, provincially, nationally and globally. Tourism opportunities abound, yet they are often overlooked and under appreciated even within the local community. Tourism provides a variety of career opportunities, including entrepreneurship and the trades, that can be both appealing and rewarding to many. With vision, careful planning and strategic execution of their ventures, entrepreneurs can thrive in this sector in Saskatchewan.
The Areas of Focus for Tourism 10, 20, 30 include:
local, provincial, national and global tourism;
the five industries (i.e., food and beverage, accommodation, recreation and entertainment, transportation, and travel services);
types of tourism (e.g., rural, cultural, health, culinary and sports);
positive and negative impacts of tourism;
sustainable practices in the tourism sector;
personal responsibility for being a respectful and responsible tourist;
quality customer service and the skills required to provide it;
tourism marketing, including the marketing mix; and,
career opportunities, including entrepreneurship and trades, available within the tourism sector
