Welcome to Family and Consumer Sciences!
My name is Ms. Ropski. I worked in the food industry for over a decade in many different sectors, including a local Co-op, a food truck, a catering business, a brunch restaurant, a wine bar, and many more. In 2017, I stumbled into a job in southern Idaho teaching high school Culinary Arts, Foods & Nutrition, and Adult Living. I fell in love with Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) and moved to north Idaho (go, Vandals!) to pursue a Master’s degree in it. I worked for two years as Lab Manager for the Carmelita Spencer Foods Laboratory at University of Idaho and as a TA in their Dietetics program. I completed my Master’s in FCS Education in May 2020, accepted a position at Spectrum, and am excited to meet and work with you this year!
In Fall 2020, I will be teaching Foods 1, Foods 2, Culinary Arts, Culinary Management, and Entrepreneurship. We are living in a crazy time this year so I am incredibly appreciative for any communication or feedback you can give to me about how the structure of our class is working for your student (especially our distance learners). My goal is to help your student learn, succeed, and love my courses' content as much as I do. Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or suggestions so that we can work together to achieve your student's success!
