Bx is an abbreviation for behavior. As Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) we are Sparta's experts on all things behavior! As outlined in our BACB Code of Ethics, we rely on scientific evidence to guide our practice. We work collaboratively with others to impact socially significant behavior. We firmly believe that behavior is communication, and in believing this, we are able to address the diverse needs of students as they navigate appropriate communication of their wants and needs in the school setting. Our practice thrives from collaboration, so we look forward to partnering with you to best support our students.
What is EBP?
Evidence-based practice (EBP) uses current research and the best available data to guide objective and balanced decision-making so that outcomes are improved. It is important because it aims to provide the most effective outcome based on the best available evidence.

Hi everyone! My name is Michelle and I am currently serving as one of Sparta's district behaviorists. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I earned my undergrad degree in Special Education in 2004, started teaching in Sparta as a Special Educator in 2006, earned my masters in 2008, and earned my BCBA (Board Certified Behavior Analyst) accreditation in 2019. My experience ranges from Grade 1- Post Grad. I currently service Sparta Middle School and Sparta High School.

Hi! My name is Ashley and I am currently serving as one of Sparta's district behaviorists. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). I earned my undergrad degree in Special Education and Early Childhood Education in 2016 and started teaching in Sparta in 2020. I earned my masters degree in 2020 in Applied Behavior Analysis and also earned my BCBA accreditation in 2020. My experience ranges from ages 3-15. I currently service Alpine Elementary School, Mohawk Avenue School and Helen Morgan School.
