Gmail Labs - Email Mad Science!
Gmail Labs are experimental features that extend the functionality of Gmail. Labs come and go, so its a good idea to browse through the list on a regular basis. Some of the best features of Gmail have been or are labs. To access Labs, click on the hamburger button in the top right corner of your inbox, and then choose "settings." Labs are a tab located between "web clips" and "offline".
Try these Labs:
Canned Response: Email for the truly lazy. Save and then send your common messages using a button next to the compose form. Also automatically send emails using filters.
Google Calendar Gadget: display your agenda for the day inside your Gmail account! This lab puts a small calendar display below Google chat.
Advanced Tip: this lab works best when combined with the "right side chat" lab.
Preview Pane - Provides a preview pane to read mail right next to your list of conversations, making mail reading faster and adding more context. This is a helpful lab for former MS Outlook users.
