Who Is on the Field

Each team has a specific number of players on the field at one time, including one goalkeeper.

• U10 games are played 7 vs 7

• U12 games are played 9 vs 9

• U13 and older games are played 11 vs 11

One player on each team is the goalkeeper. All other players are field players.

How Long the Game Lasts

A soccer game is divided into two halves. The referee keeps the official time.

Typical recreational game lengths:

• U10: four 12-minute quarters

• U12: two 30-minute halves

• U15: two 40-minute halves

• U19: two 45-minute halves

Teams switch which goal they are attacking in the second half.
