I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of South Dakota in 2010. I then proceeded to study Art Education at Morningside College where I eventually graduated in 2011 with a certificate in K-12 Art Education. I recently completed my Masters of Education also through Morningside College in 2015.

I currently reside on a farm outside of Sutherland, IA with my husband Heath, my daughter Mirabella (Mira) and our three cats, Leonardo daVinci (Leo), Figaro (Figgie), and Olive (Ollie). For 36 years my parents Terry and Debbie Kruse have lived on an acreage just south of Calmuet on hwy 59 and they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this summer. My dad also works for SOS and has driven school bus for the district for 26 years. I have two younger sisters Cassie Kruse and Noelle Magnussen. As well as one brother in law Evan Magnussen. When I am not at school teaching ART to my students I love creating my own ART and also helping my daughter develop her artistic talents. Mira loves to color and paint. She has created quite a few mini masterpieces to date. Movie watching is another love of mine especially when I can curl up with my family and pets to watch a hilarious comedy or a spine chilling horror flick. Fun Fact...I am a movie quoting machine. I use movie quotes as part of my daily vocabulary... because after all there is truly a good movie line for every moment of life.
