Healthy Athletes

On Saturday, June 24th, from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm in the Leavey Center, athletes will have the opportunity to have FREE health screenings. SONC Healthy Athletes will offer Fit Feet, FUNfitness, Health Promotion, Special Smiles and Strong Minds! 

• Fit Feet provides podiatric screenings to evaluate problems of the feet and ankles, proper shoe and sock wear. 

• FUNfitness provides physical therapy examinations and screens for flexibility of hamstring, calf, shoulder rotator and hip muscles.  

• Health Promotion provides tips on how to improve and maintain good health and sports performance and athletes will receive fun giveaways to help promote wellness. 

• Strong Minds provides relaxation and anxiety training to help maintain emotional wellness and athletes will receive fun giveaways that support the Strong Minds training. 

• Special Smiles provides dental examinations, personal oral hygiene instruction, a free toothbrush and sport mouth guards as needed to help prevent dental injuries. 

Each screening takes about 20-30 minutes and are non-invasive.

Competing athletes do not need to preregister for this event.

CHECK-IN INFORMATION: Coaches will be given Healthy Athletes Passports by their Head of Delegation. To check in, coaches will bring competing athletes to the check in table with their athlete's passports already on. Coaches will let the check in table know their team has arrived and will be invited onto the floor to go through the screenings. Once athletes have gone through ALL of their desired screenings, athletes can turn in their passports for a prize. Athletes are welcome to come in and out during any of our opening hours (1:00 pm - 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm). Once an athlete turns in their passport, they will not be eligible to go through more screenings to receive additional prizes. Please hold onto the passport until you have finished.
