Coaches' Responsibilities (Click to Expand)
Provide for the general welfare, safety, health and well-being of each athlete in their charge.
Have copies of athlete applications on hand at all times.
Be thoroughly familiar with all information in this Info Guide.
Dress and act at all times in a manner which will be a credit to Special Olympics Northern California and the delegation.
Report all emergencies to the proper authorities after taking immediate action to ensure health and safety of participants.

Attend all meetings as scheduled.
Refrain from possession, consumption and use of alcohol, tobacco, or illegal drugs at all times.
Follow the intent and spirit of established duties, rules, and responsibilities established by Special Olympics Northern California and Special Olympics, Incorporated.
Provide the following specific services to the athletes:
Supervision 24 hours a day
Ensure that credentials are worn at all times
Account for luggage & personal items
Get to meals on time
Report to competition areas on time
Ensure that prescribed medications are taken on time
Keep track of awards & souvenirs
Abide by the Coach's Code of Conduct.
The Head of Delegation (HOD) Meeting (Click to Expand)
Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, 6:30pm – 8:30pm
The HOD meeting for HODs and Coach/HODs will be held from 6:30pm – 8:30pm in Headquarters. On Thursday night, HODs will stay where their delegations will be housed in the residence halls. At the meeting, HODs will receive all final delegation information. This meeting will also give each HOD the opportunity to meet the Games Management Team and discuss the details of the Games.
There will be a Venue Walk-through for all HODs on Friday morning. Please meet at the Tennis Courts at 9:00am on Friday, June 23rd, 2023. Your tour guide will be Julie Rodriguez and the Venue Directors will explain each sport/activity at their respective venues.
On Saturday, June 25th, 2023 at 8:00pm there will be an HOD meeting in HQ to answer any questions or address concerns and review check-out procedures for Sunday.

Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 - 4:00pm - 10:30pm
HOD's will need to check in at Graham Hall (same for Delegations staying at FINN) to receive their whole delegations room keys and parking passes (needed to request in advance).
All room assignments are final. If you have any room changes they need to be discussed and approved by Lindsey.
Please remind all participants to bring their own toiletries if they can (soap, shampoo and conditioner etc).
Only Athletes and Coaches are allowed in the dorm buildings, all others are not allowed access into the building.
Friday, June 22nd, 2023 - 11:00am - 10:30pm
HOD's will need to check in at Graham Hall (same for Delegations staying at FINN) to receive their whole delegations room keys and parking passes (needed to request in advance).

HOD's can park in the free 20 minute parking at the South Garage on the first floor or street parking (you will be required to pay). Then go to CV2 to receive their whole delegations room keys and parking passes (needed to request in advance). All HOD's will go through a training (required) by SJSU while signing off for all the room keys. You will need your room key for the elevator to select your floor and you will only be able to access your designated floor. Please do not lose any key cards as, SONC will be charged for any lost keys that need to be reprogramed.

All Athletes and Coaches staying at SJSU are required to complete the mandatory housing orientation. It will be in the front entrance of CV2 at 4:00PM
Athlete Release Form (Homebound) (Click to Expand)
If an athlete who traveled to the competition on a team bus or van will be returning home separate from the rest of the delegation, with a parent or caregiver, the form must be completed and turned in to the appropriate SONC/SONV staff member.
