Grade Redemption
Welcome to the Science Grade Redemption Remote Learning Page
If you are here, it should be because you wish to change your current science grade in a positive way.
Here are the Rules:
Grade redemption is for students who currently have either a D or an F in my course. If you have a higher grade but wish to increase it, you must email Ms. Reid to get permission to take part in the grade redemption process.
You will need to follow the instructions entirely and complete ALL the work assigned to redeem your grade. You cannot simply skip to the test.
In order to make sure I am still available to help you with the current assigned school work, I will only be available to help you with any grade-redemption questions or general assignment help from 10:30 - 11 AM and 3:00-3:30 PM each school day.
Once you complete the Chapter Review for the science chapter you will be increasing your grade within, you will submit your work in the form of a Google Doc by emailing it to Ms. Reid directly. Ms. Reid will score your work. A score of 80% or higher must be achieved in order to be allowed to take the final test.
You will need to set up an agreed upon testing time with Ms. Reid.
The final test may not be retaken.
Once you are cleared to take the final test, you will be given a link to the test. The test must be completed in one session (cannot be saved and restarted later). You may use outside resources to help you on the test, but during the test your Chromebook will be monitored.
Additionally, during the testing time you will be asked to join a ZOOM meeting with Ms. Reid so that she can see you at all times during the test and so that she may be there to help you if needed.
Newton's Laws: Test 1
*Please read ALL the steps BEFORE beginning this process*
Follow the button linked below to access the 8th Grade Physical Science Textbook.
Read and take notes (this will help you later!) on CHAPTER 5, "Matter in Motion".
Complete the Chapter Review (pg. 132 & 133 in book) on a NUMBERED Google Doc.
Title the Google Doc, "Newton's Laws Test 1 Practice".
Email the document to Ms. Reid (not the same thing as "sharing" it!).
Ms. Reid will grade it.
If you receive an 80% or above, you will be given the opportunity to retake the final test. If you do not, you will need to try again and get help where you need it!
Once you have completed the test, your new test score will replace your first Newton's Laws Summative assignment in Teacherease.
*I recommend completing 1-2 sections of the chapter each day, not all at once.

Ms. Reid will grade it.
