Sra. Gilroy’s class will become responsible digital citizens. This contract serves as an agreement between the student, parent and Mrs. Gilroy to ensure that all activities are carried out in a way that is meant to be safe, engaging and meaningfully oriented on learning.
 
 
As the teacher, I will…
- Teach students about responsible digital citizenship.
 - Provide guidance and monitoring with all activities that we complete as school-based projects that require digital media.
 - Equip students with the discretionary skills needed to take their learning outside of the classroom.
 - Appropriately issues consequences for students who put our learning at risk by irresponsible behavior.
 
 
the student, will…
- Use sound judgment when dealing in forms of digital media.
 - Stay on pages and sites for researching, not games nor videos unrelated to what we are studying.
 - Keep discussions focused on appropriate Spanish topics. Any form of inappropriate conversation/interaction will result in loss of internet privileges for at least a week.  Any assignments made using technology will still have the same deadline, regardless of my inability to use digital media in the classroom.
 - Never give out personal information (including my last name, personal email address, or other identifying data).
 - Report any suspicious activity to Mrs. Gilroy.
 - Use our digital interactions to enhance learning in a way that empowers and enlightens
 
the parent/guardian can support us this way…
- Discuss with your child the activities that they participate in while at school.
 - Stay informed of issues facing children and digital citizenship.
 - Understand that on-line learning is most effective when monitored.
 - Encourage my child to participate in appropriate ways for all learning experiences.
 - Report any questionable activities on school-based projects to Mrs. Gilroy
