Go outside with a stick and write “where” and other sight words in the dirt, mud, or sand.

Roll and Record- Do you have any dice at home? Maybe you can borrow one from a board game? If you can find one die, try this game!
Here is how you play:
Roll the die and read the word that goes with the number you rolled ( 1-saw , 2 - were , 3 - then , 4 - their , 5 - your , 6 - of)
After you read the word, write it on this recording sheet or a piece of paper.
Continue rolling, reading, and writing until you write each word 4 times or until one reaches the top of the graph!

Add “their” to your word wall at home and/or your word collection charts. Read all the words you have collected!
Play-Doh Write-Write or build your sight words (their, were, saw, then, if, of, his) in play-doh! Use a toothpick or golf tee to write them. Use magnetic letters or letter stamps to build them in play-doh.

Rainbow Write-Write your sight words (were, saw, then, if, of, his) on white paper with a white crayon (or print this rainbow). Paint over with watercolors or color over with markers and watch them appear like magic!

I would print and have child do sorts based on weekly lessons Ex: last weeks /th/ & /wh/ . Can do individually or mixed practice

Go on a "Sight Word Hunt"
Pick 10 sight words and write them on post-its or small pieces of paper. Ask someone in your family to hide them around the house. Set a timer for ten minutes and try to find them all. Read them when you are done! Have fun!
Week 2 Phonics: /th/ digraph (parents a digraph is when 2 consonants together make 1 single sound /th/ as in the word “thumb.”)

Examples of a word family include
-AT: cat, bat, sat, mat, hat
-EN: hen, pen, ten, den, men
-IG: pig, dig, big, fig, twig
-OG: dog, hog, jog, fog, log
-UT: but, cut, rut, gut, hut
Fly Swatter Game- Write letters, sight words, CVC words (consonant-vowel-consonant words, such as cat, big, etc.) on pieces of paper. Lay the cards on the table and say the letter, letter sound, sight word or CVC word, and have your child "slap" the card that matches. You can use a fly swatter, a stick, their hand, smash Play-Doh or anything else to slap the matching card.
Sight Word Trays- Put sand, dirt, shaving cream, whipped cream, sprinkles, etc. in a cookie tray and practice writing sight words with your finger, with a straw or with a stick
Magic Words-Write sight words in white crayon and color over with marker
Rainbow Write- Write sight words with different colored crayons or makers
Build sight words with Play-Doh
Build sight words with Legos
Write sight words with sidewalk chalk
