Use a calendar to cross off each day until the chickens hatch. Day 1 is on Thurs. Apr. 30 and Day 21 is on Wed. May 20.
Writing Idea: Write a fiction (make-believe) story about a chick hatching and becoming your pet. What did you name it? Where does it live? What do you do with it?
Watch, listen, and read along with the book, Chicken’s Aren’t the Only Ones by Ruth Heller. Read Aloud by Mrs. Clark’s Reading Corner.
Cut out an egg shape from paper. Draw an animal that hatches from an egg other than a chicken. Write about what you know about the animal you drew.
Make a chart of animals that are Oviparous (hatches from an egg) and Non-Oviparous (doesn’t hatch from an egg).
Watch, listen, and read along with the book, Chicken Little by Steven Kellogg on Bookflix
Have a contest with your family and have everyone predict which number of egg will hatch first! Remember, the numbers are written on the eggs from 1-48.

Without Technology
Weather Graph
Create a weather graph at home and graph the weather each day. You can write a sentence about the weather and keep a weather journal as well.
Wood Scavenger Hunt
Look around your house for things that are made of wood. Label each thing in your house that you find that is made of wood.
Rock Painting
Go on a nature walk and collect some rocks. Once back home, wash the rocks and let them dry. Then, paint them! You can paint pictures, letters, numbers, words, etc. on each rock.
With Technology
Join a couple of ocean scientists for some impromptu marine biology camps. New episodes are added twice a week.

Check out a life science, physcial science or planetary science episode from Bill Nye The Science Guy, using the link above.
Check out the kindergarten mini lesson and full lesson videos. The mini lessons are shorter and all digital, while the full lessons are longer and give an idea for a hands-on activity.
